Special Concert Events

TCEMF

Twin Cities Early Music Festival

Date: Thursday, August 27th, 8:00pm.

Repertory: Giacomo Carissimi’s Jephte and recently recorded Motets and Cantatas of Bonifazio Graziani

Consortium Carissimi is proud to be part of the second edition of the Twin Cities Early Music Festival. As homage to the composer Carissimi, we will perform his most famous Oratorio Jephte. This Old Testament story depicts a victorious Jephte, who after battle vows that whoever comes out from the doors of my house to meet me when I return in peace from the Ammonites I will offer up for a burnt offering. The victorious Jephte is met on his return by his daughter, his only child. This concert with the Latin text oratorio will include several cantatas in Italian by his colleague and friend, Bonifazio Graziani.
