*Saturday’s performance will be performed at Boe Chapel of St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN
Repertory: Music of Giovanni Gabrieli with the St. Olaf Early Music Singers, instrumentalists from the St. Olaf Collegium Musicum, and Professor Gerald Hoekstra, marking the 400th anniversary of Gabrieli’s death. Set for two choirs, cornetti, sackbuts, and organ—with a special appearance by local favorite Vern Sutton.

Venue: The Chapel of St. Mary at The Saint Paul Seminary in St. Paul, MN
Repertory: Please join us for the second concert of our sixth season to celebrate the Christmas season with delightful motets and cantatas of Giacomo Carissimi and Bonifazio Graziani, along with Antonio Vivaldi’s lesser heard Magnificat.

Tu es Petrus: Music of Benevoli, Palestrina, and Carissimi

Venue: The Basilica of Saint Mary
Repertory: Consortium Carissimi joins forces in this first-time collaboration with the Schola of The Basilica of Saint Mary and Director of Music Teri Larson. Benevoli’s Mass is set for four choirs, four organs, and continuo instruments. Benevoli based this Mass on the Tu es Petrus Motet of Palestrina, also on this program. The concert will conclude with Carissimi’s eight-voice setting of Salve Regina.

Venue: The Church of Christ the King
Repertory: The concert features songs of John Dowland, celebrating the 450th anniversary of his birth, and madrigals of Don Carlo Gesualdo, honoring the 400th anniversary of his death. Set for voice, harp, lute, and harpsichord.
