Our eighth season concludes with two concerts featuring Eight Motets of Giacomo Carissimi leading up to a premiere recording by Naxos this July.

Consortium Carissimi has performed over these past seven seasons many of Carissimi’s larger scale motets. The metamorphosis of the motet into the oratory is particular to this period of composition, rendering the distinction between the two difficult. This project brings back eight motets of Giacomo Carissimi.
