What do jazz, Martin Luther’s 95 Theses, and renowned conductor Kathy Romey have in common?

They are all part of Consortium Carissimi’s exciting 10th Anniversary season.

This season, we’re delighted to bring you a mixture of the familiar and the new. From wonderful new venues like The Landmark Center in Saint Paul to powerful classics like Monteverdi’s Vespers under the inspired direction of Kathy Romey, Season 10 is a chance to break new ground, look forward to the future and celebrate the past.

Ten years ago, Garrick Comeaux had what I sometimes consider a slightly implausible dream: to bring the effervescence of the early Italian Baroque period to life for modern ears. Ten years later, this vision has grown, matured and expanded to include live concerts that our audiences love, educational programs that light a torch that will burn far into the future, and world-class recordings that preserve long-lost musical gems for generations to come.

But ultimately, this music isn’t about the past or the future.

It’s about us, now, who love this music for its ability to bridge. To heal. To transport.

Whether you have supported us from Day One or are just discovering us now, we welcome you to a musical adventure that continues, brighter than ever, in our 10th year.

Thank you for all you do, and we look forward to seeing you at what is sure to be our best season yet.

Alma Gentil: Early Italian Baroque Meets Jazz

This project of the six early Italian baroque madrigals and the six newly composed by Jeremy Walker is firmly grounded in poetry of G.B. Marino. We will slide into this event another world premier performance; a work of Kenny Wheeler composed for the Italian ensemble, which gave birth to the stateside of the same name. Featuring guest artists, Jeremy Walker Ensemble.
