Bass-baritone Eric Sorum is active in the Twin Cities as a singer, conductor, and teacher of singing. After graduating from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN in 2006, he has pursued a career in choral music. He sings with the Bach Society and serves as a lay clerke at St. John the Evangelist Episcopal Church in St. Paul.
Eric is returning for a second season with Consortium Carissimi. He is founder and director of Hymnos, a small vocal ensemble dedicated to traditions of chant, hymnody, polyphony, and folk music. He has previously sung with the Minnesota Opera chorus, the Minnesota Chorale, the Exultate Chamber Choir & Orchestra, and many other ensembles.
He performed his operatic debut as Masetto in the Twin Cities Fringe Opera’s production of “Don Giovanni.”
