Rockford Mjos performs as a accompanist and soloist on theorbo, archlute, Baroque and modern guitars, and ukulele. He has performed twice on the Minnesota Guitar Society’s Sundin Hall Series, has been a regular on the Twin Cities Lute Cooperative’s Lute Cafe season, and been a guest with many local soloists and ensembles including Jin Kim, Glorious Revolution Baroque and The Rose Ensemble.
Rocky appears on CDs with the Chambure Vihuela Quartet, the Beggar’s Banquet, and his wife Peggy Larson. He has performed in England, Germany, Sweden, Poland, and Italy; at early music festivals in Utrecht, Wroclaw, San Antonio, and Portland (ME); and been broadcast on MPR and Dutch National Radio. He studied classical guitar with Dan Estrem and Paul Berget at Hamline University and historic plucked instruments at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague (NL) with Toyohiko Satoh.
Rocky is a member of Ukulele Drive, a ukulele band, and is also an award-winning graphic designer.
