Tenor

Tenor and conductor Gary Ruschman appears regularly in concert, opera, rock, folk, jazz, chamber music, and studio settings. Hailed by the San Francisco Chronicle as “funny and fresh-voiced,” Gary has soloed with orchestras and opera companies across the U.S., including the Boston Pops, Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, Portland Opera, West Edge Opera, and American Bach Soloists. He toured the globe for a decade with CANTUS vocal ensemble, recording more than a dozen albums. Gary currently serves as Director of Music at St. Timothy Lutheran Church in St. Paul, MN, and maintains an active schedule as an opera and concert soloist. Reviews of Monteverdi’s Return of Ulysses 2015 West Edge Opera follow: “Vocally brilliant … delightful as both Gods and Penelope’s suitors … a first-rate cast … excellent contributions … three suitors were entertainingly played by Gary Ruschman, Jonathan Smucker and Aaron Sorensen … the suitors … were especially funny … there was fine comic timing and all sorts of sight gags.”
